
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez, September 2, 1966)[3][4][5[3][4][5), is an American and Mexican actress. She began her career in Mexico with her starring role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as also in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she earned an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only among her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's performance as Frida Kahlo painter in Frida (2002) which was a biographical feature she co-produced and won her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6]. Also, she was awarded her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce as well as starring in action film Once Upon a Time in Mexico in subsequent years.
